The clibanus of Pereruela are unique due to the composition of clays found in the area and because they are made from two different types of clay. They are composed of a heavy, slow-drying red clay which gives the pieces its strength, and a white clay containing quartz, feldspar, and mica that can be seen with the naked eye and gives the pieces its refractive properties.
Very special piece to make and bake bread . The Clibanus consists and two pieces: the base and lid, it measures 30 cm diameter and about 20 cm height to bake a loaf of approximately 1 kg.
Recommendation exclusively for the first use (to cook): immerse it in water for 24 hours, let it dry and start using it over low eat to increase slowly.
